Jharkhand’s Medal Hunt at National Poker Series 2025: Will They Break the Deadlock?
The National Poker Series India 2025 is heating up, and the leaderboard is shifting every day. Some states have stormed ahead, clinching medals and making their mark. Others? Still waiting for their moment of glory. Jharkhand, a state that has produced some of India’s most formidable Poker talents, is yet to register a podium finish.
Will Jharkhand’s top players rise to the occasion?
The Missing Titans: Who’s Yet to Make Their Mark?
Jharkhand isn’t short on Poker powerhouses, but its medal tally still reads zero. Some of its past champions are in the mix, but the big breakthrough remains elusive.
Where’s Ram Kakkar ‘mowgumotu’?
A six-time National Poker Series medalist, Kakkar is one of Jharkhand’s most decorated players. His track record? Impressive: 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 4 Bronze. But at National Poker Series 2025, he’s been grinding without the ultimate payoff.
That said, he’s knocking on the door. He came tantalizingly close to a medal on March 3, finishing 4th in NPS#61 (7-Max) SPRINT, taking home 2.13 LAC. Since then, he’s kept the momentum going:
- 7th in NPS#71 (PLO-5) (48.7K) on March 5
- 34th in NPS#74 Wednesday Volley (49.6K) on March 5
Can Shaurya Modi ‘shaur23’ Change Jharkhand’s Fortune?
A former The MoneyMaker finalist, Shaurya Modi has been putting up solid numbers, but the medal has remained just out of reach. He’s had deep runs, proving he’s in form:
- 12th in NPS#6 Marathon (57K) on Feb 23
- 10th in NPS#14 (PLO-6) Megadive (43K) on Feb 24
- 74th in NPS#67 Tuesday Tornado (23K) on March 4
The question is – how badly does he want that medal? The competition is relentless, but if he can push through, Jharkhand could finally open its account.
Pratik Modi ‘ace.high’ – The Game Changer?
One contender from Jharkhand who’s starting to heat up is Pratik Modi ‘ace.high’. His deep run in NPS#67 Tuesday Tornado saw him finishing 6th for 2.54 LAC on March 4. Is this the beginning of something bigger? If he keeps this up, he could be the one to put Jharkhand on the leaderboard.
Other Heavyweights Yet to Strike
- Utkarsh Raj ‘Utkraj4’ (Daltonganj) – Has made multiple ITM finishes, with his best run so far being a 31st place finish in NPS#9 Marathon (15.2K) on Feb 24. He’s got the experience – can he now step up?
- Keshav Todi ‘Motimachli’ – A winner of The Big Show in February, Todi has put up some notable finishes but is yet to find his rhythm at National Poker Series 2025:
-43rd in NPS#50 Sunday KickOff (35K) on March 2
-37th in NPS#69 (7-Max) SPRINT (17K) on March 4
Jharkhand’s Medal Hunt – Will They Deliver?
The battle for NPS supremacy is getting fiercer by the day. Other states are charging ahead, racking up medals. But Jharkhand’s top contenders are no strangers to the big stage – they know what it takes to win.
Will Kakkar bring home a medal? Can Modi or Shaurya break the streak? Or will a dark horse emerge from the Jharkhand poker circuit?
The stakes are high. The time is now. Jharkhand, it’s your move!
