EndBoss, the brainchild of PokerBaazi proved to be yet another successful one. Imbibing a player centric culture, PokerBaazi has always pioneered innovative online poker tournaments with exciting new formats, structures and value that gets any poker player out of bed! The endeavour is to change the way poker is played and perceived in the sub-continent.
Indian online poker tournaments usually average a Rs.1 Crore Guarantee. When PokerBaazi announced EndBoss, it’s guarantee looked implausible. Feeling the pulse of its players has always been PokerBaazi’s forte and they felt the looming need for a high-stakes high value tournament. The INR 5 Crore Guarantee was met in a heartbeat thanks to the overwhelming response by the players!
The 1000x return meant everyone wanted a shot at the uptop Rs.1 Crore prize and so the long grind began. Players battled it off over four flights to progress to Day 2 of the tournament. With 53 players making the money the felts were simmering some great poker action. All eyes were set on Rahul Melwani, Ashish Munot, Haier Madraswala, Romit Advani, Anirban Das, Abhinav Iyer, Anuj Yadav, Neel Ajit Joshi and Vineet Kumar as these familiar faces were favourite to bag their next big poker score!
As the numbers dwindled, the poker heat turned up with the objective of securing a seat on the final table. Day 2 drew to an end with nine players making it to the final table. Coming this far is a victory by itself, but that’s the thing about a game of poker the only victory that counts is Numero Uno!
Sneaking-up on the final table to clench that spot was a 27-year old Abhishek Maheshwari aka ‘HumanAi’. Now this is the most amazing part of a game of poker, it can be anyone’s payday (provided you got the skills it takes)! The lesser known poker newbie made history by satellite-ing into Flight 1D of the tournament by depositing only Rs.5000! That’s right, this could just be the birth of Indian Poker’s ‘Money Maker’ effect.
The greatest victory for an online poker platform is witnessing young rising talent in its tournaments. PokerBaazi continues to be the trailblazer for grass root mobilization of Indian Poker. It’s a win-win for not just Abhishek but also for all those who took part and the poker community. Take a bow if you were a part of ENDBOSS and witnessed poker history!
